Each LA-LU garment is crafted with sustainability and durability in mind. Here we share tips on how to make your pieces last as long as they were designed to.

CARING FOR YOUR SWIM

WEAR

All LA-LU swim styles are designed to be worn in both salty oceans and fresh water. To preserve the quality and longevity of your swimwear, we recommend limiting exposure to chlorinated pools, spas, or saunas. Contact with textured surfaces, such as pebbled pools or rocks, can snag the fabric and cause pilling.

Our swimwear is also designed to double as undergarments. Please be mindful of garments worn over swimwear, such as denim or embellished clothing, as they may cause pilling, pulls, or friction.

Please note that some pieces include beads that are handmade, making every one unique. As a result, there may be slight variations from the product images shown on our website. To ensure longevity, please rinse your beaded swimwear after contact with saltwater.

WASH

Hand wash your swimwear in cold water after every swim. Occasionally, use a gentle, non-fragrant detergent to hand wash the garment. Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent, as residue can cause fading.

DRY

Lay your swimwear flat, inside out, in the shade to dry. If hanging, wring out excess water beforehand, as heavy, water-logged swimwear may lose its shape. Avoid air drying in direct sunlight, as this may cause colours to fade. Do not tumble dry.

STORE

Ensure your swimwear is completely dry and free of salt or chlorine before storing. Improper cleaning or damp storage may lead to mould or fold lines. Fold your swimwear neatly in a drawer rather than hanging it. Store in a cool, dry place.

CARING FOR YOUR CLOTHES

WEAR

All LA-LU clothing is crafted from high-quality fibres, predominantly natural. To preserve the integrity and longevity of your garments, avoid rough surfaces or activities that may cause snagging or pilling. Be cautious when wearing denim, embellished items, or accessories that may create friction with your clothing. Pilling can occur with natural fibres and is not indicative of poor quality.

WASH

Gently hand wash all LA-LU garments in cold water. High temperatures can cause shrinkage and affect dyes. Use a gentle, non-fragrant detergent and rinse thoroughly to ensure no detergent remains. Avoid soaking for extended periods, as this may weaken the fibres.

DRY

Lay your garments flat in the shade to dry, ensuring they are turned inside out to preserve colour. Do not tumble dry, as the heat can shrink and damage natural fibres. Avoid drying in direct sunlight, as it may cause fading.

STORE

Ensure your garments are fully dry before storing. Fold them neatly in a drawer or on a shelf to avoid stretching or distortion from hangers. Store in a cool, dry place to maintain their quality and longevity.

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

WEAR

Handle your jewellery with care to avoid scratches and damage. Remove your jewellery before bed, showering, washing your hands, or swimming in the ocean, as water and harsh conditions can affect its quality.

STORE

Store your jewellery in a safe, dry place. Avoid storing it in humid areas like the bathroom, as steam and moisture can cause damage. To protect your jewellery, store each piece separately in the box it came with or in soft material to prevent breakage, scratching, or tangling. Always pack your jewellery carefully.

PROTECT

To minimise damage, protect your jewellery from extreme temperatures, impacts, scratches, and harsh chemicals. Extra care should be taken when wearing pieces made with delicate materials.
